Hi everyone!
Today I have three cards for you. Each one is made with a stencil, but each one is made in a different way. Let’s get to it, shall we?
For the first two, I started out by doing some ink blending with the Life Changing Blender Brushes. I used yellows, oranges, pinks and some purple inks. Even though it’s almost December, I’m trying to drag out the autumn vibes. It’s such a pretty colour palette after all.
I did a big piece and then used a stitched A2 rectangle diecut to cut it into four pieces. On three of these pieces I used the same stencil, The Moroccan Tiles. One with Texture Paste Transparent Gloss and the second one with Texture Paste Transparent Matte with a palette knife. On the third panel I used the stencil with Embellishment Mousse in Mother Of Pearl. I added this by using my Life Changing Blender Brushes
I think it gives a much more shimmery and soft look, than adding it with a palette knife. Adding texture to panels is such a fun way to take your card making up a notch. Depending on your level of love of shimmer or texture, change up what you use with your stencils.
Once your embellishment mousse or other media is dry, it’s time to get your sentiments out and finish these. On the Transparent Gloss Texture Paste panel, I heat embossed the sentiment ‘Art grows brain cells‘ on a strip of vellum. I wrapped this strip around the panel and then adhered it to a card base.
On the second panel I wanted to keep the sentiment small, as the panel is so pretty. I kept it straight to the point with ‘Have a bright birthday’. It’s heat embossed in gold on black card stock. This is from Charlie The Chameleon.
I decided to use the Basket Weave stencil in a way I have never tried before: Copic colouring! It was so much fun and I loved how it turned out. This is definitely not the last time I will try this for sure. The colouring is better explained in a video coming soon on my YouTube channel, which you can check out HERE.
When the colouring was done, I decided it needed a little something extra. I added some glitter to it, because why not? The stencil stayed in place, and i spread some Nuvo Glitter Paste in Moonstone on it. Not a lot, though. Just enough to add a little something-something. When that was dry, I cut out the panel with a rectangular diecut and added it to a light grey card base.
To finish off the card, I diecut the words ‘Craftiness Is Happiness‘ out and added them to it. These I did in black and gold, to keep to the monochromatic colour scheme, and it looks fabulous!
