Hi guys!
How are we today? All good? Or panicking over the holidays coming up?? I only just yesterday put my tree up. That’s it as far as decorations go so far. I’m not feeling any Christmas spirit at all this year. Doesn’t stop me from making christmas cards though, luckily!
For today’s card I have used the gorgeous Christmas Poinsettia Star stamp.
It’s big, it’s bold and oh so fabulous. I decided to heat emboss it in Metallic Gold Sparkle glitter powder from WOW! Embossing powder for extra glamour. This glitter powder adds a little bit of texture to the lines instead of melting smooth as usual embossing powder does. I think it brings the Poinsettia to life, even better than smooth embossing powder.
To colour it, I have used Atelier Ink re-inkers as water colours. These work fab and you only need a tiny bit. I used Marilyn Red and Marigold Orange for the petals and then created a soft green background using Goddess Green.
When you have a big, lovely image like this, I detest covering it up, so when it came to adding sentiments, I kept it simple. Joyeux Noel is heat embossed in Metallic Gold Rich on white card stock, trimmed down and added in the bottom right corner. Easy peasy, and the card is done!
I made a video for this card too, which you can find over on my YouTube channel. This card really didn’t take much time to make at all, but it’s certainly not bland, is it?
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have enjoyed this post and like the card.
Happy Holidays and happy crafting from Erica
